Alliance Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded in 1924 as “Sparks & Cage Insurance Agency.” Originally located in Taft, Texas, the company was moved to Odem, Texas and eventually to the current Sinton, Texas insurance agency and Calallen, Texas insurance agency. The agency has also shifted ownership within the Rippstein family during this time.

The current owner, Stephen Rippstein, joined the firm in 1987 and operated the agency along with his mother Virginia Rippstein. They were the primary owners for 15 years until Virginia retired in 2002 after 35 years in the insurance business.

Alliance Insurance Agency has operated out of two offices since 1991. The first branch was opened in Odem, Texas in 1984 and was relocated in 2004 to the new Calallen office.   On January 1, 1991 Alliance Insurance Agency purchased two local independent agencies and combined them to open the Sinton office. It was on that same day that the agency name was changed to Alliance Insurance Agency, Inc.

Ownership Biographies

Stephen Rippstein was born in Sinton and grew up in Corpus Christi where he graduated from WB Ray High School. He has a BBA in Marketing with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.

His wife and business partner, Debbie Rippstein, is a graduate of New Braunfels High School, and has a Masters Degree in Psychology from Mary Hardin Baylor University in Temple. She also has her LPC license.
